The 9aspen Story
The 9aspen voyage is a multi-layered experience documenting life on the Florida Gulf Coast. As a videographer, songwriter and author, 9aspen turns life on the water into 4K video, original soundtracks, and coastal stories.
From solo offshore runs 60 miles out to the quiet sandbars along Southwest Florida, every video, song, and chapter is an authentic reflection of a saltwater lifestyle. This is the official home of the videos, the music, the book, the apparel, and the stories behind the lens.
Cat Tales
The 9aspen adventures are powered by Cat Tales, a 2022 World Cat 280DC-X. This 28-foot power catamaran, with its 9'2" beam, serves as my boating and fishing platform. Whether navigating the shallow Florida backwaters or utilizing the 220-gallon fuel capacity for solo runs deep offshore, this boat provides the ultimate foundation for stability and comfort.
Cat Tales is rigged for reliability, precision, and safety, featuring twin Yamaha F200 engines with digital throttle and steering. The Yamaha Helm Master EX Control System, complete with joystick control and a CL7 display, allows for effortless maneuvering when operating solo. My navigation and eyes on the water are powered by a Garmin 8612xsv display and Fantom 24x radar, ensuring every mile of the Gulf Coast is explored with clarity. For peace of mind offshore, the boat is equipped with a comprehensive safety suite, including an EPIRB, PLBs, satellite texting, and the Garmin OnBoard Man Overboard system.
